Adopting Rats
Teeny Snoots Rat Rescue cares for ratties from many backgrounds, all with their own unique story. Below are some of the rats for adoption currently under the care of Teeny Snoots!
The website may not show all available rats - reach out to us to hear about the other rats available!
Adoption Process
Teeny Snoots believes that rats will always choose their families.
For this reason, our adoption process begins with an application and proof of enclosure set up, followed by a meeting between the rats and the prospective family. Once your application has been approved, a meet and greet date will be set up where you can meet multiple rats in their playpen and see who connects most with you. Teeny Snoots does not believe in adopting based purely on looks; prospective families must meet multiple rats prior to choosing their new family members.
In our adoption history, most adoptions that were based on looks failed as the rats were unhappy and ended up wanting to come back to rescue. However, once we let the rats choose their family, their adoption was a success and all of those the rats happily stayed with their families for the rest of their lives! Allowing the rats to interact with you while they are with their friends helps them feel more at ease and replaces their nervousness with curiosity.
